Customer Service / Administrative Assistant

AW Metals is hiring customer service / administrative assistant professionals to help with the day to day operation of the business including answering phones, responding to customer and vendor inquiries, processing  shipments, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude.

  • Answer phones in a professional manner, screens calls, routes calls, and takes messages.

  • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.

  • Compile, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.

  • Review and enter orders.

  • Coordinate and schedule small parcel and LTL Freight Shipments.

  • Process invoices for distribution and payment, including processing credit card payments.

  • Maintain and update customer and vendor information.

  • Purchasing office supplies and equipment and maintaining proper stock levels.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Language – Must be proficient in English. Read, comprehend and understand the English language.

  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Customer Service – Refers to the ability to satisfy the expectations and requirements of customers. Displays courtesy and sensitivity and responds promptly to service requests. Identifies customer needs and explains services clearly. Handles difficult situations.

  • Time Management – Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently. Values time. Concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities. Gets more done in less time than others. Can attend to a broader range of activities.

  • Adaptability – Adapts easily to changes in the work environment.

  • Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred plus 3-4 years of related experience.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
